Tasting Notes:
Classical Merlot. Note of cassis and oak. The approach is smooth and subtled at the beginning. Await 45 mins breathing time, it becomes a well balanced claret with good fruit, velvet palette, and a steady, pleasure finish.
Things you need to know:
Joel Duffau took over the Chateau in 1985, where the family cradle, Moulon ( located in the left bank of Dordogne ), lives in a heritage as winegrowers of 9 generations.
The vines are planted on clay-limestone hillsides of the town, which is a promised land for the Merlot. From his studies and work placements in France and abroad ( Bourgogne, Beaujolais, Rioja, and California .. ), he retained his natural curiosity and a taste for discovering all things new which enable him, vintage after vintage, to evolve in his winegrowing and winemaking techniques.
His special cuvee “ Le Barry “ is produced in such expressive manner that earns the wine different recognitions from several wine guides.
